JRC News Blog:

Welcome to the Jersey Riding Club

The JRC was established in 1965 for riders of all levels who are 17 years of age within the JRC Membership Year. The JRC is committed to both horse and rider learning and having fun. We have over 200 members, including riding and non-riding.

The JRC holds numerous events and instructionals on Show Jumping, Dressage, Cross Country and Cross-Jump. The committee members also organise social events, BHS examinations and the occasional lecture or demo.

To ensure everyone enjoys the JRC we ask our members to help our committee at events throughout the year to spread the workload of putting on regular events.

Enjoy browsing our site and if you have any questions or concerns regarding JRC, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Cilla Perchard has been appointed Welfare Officer for Jersey by the BHS. Any welfare issues then please contact her.

Congratulations:

To the following members who took and passed their Riding Club stage IV welfare exams, Carly Pallot, Shirley Williams, Vicky Carlyle,
Ross Hardy and Becky Dorey. Carly also passed her stage IV equitation and Becky passed her stage IV equitation non jumping. This is a great achievement as Jersey is only one of two places holding Riding Club Stage IV exams.

The students attended a welfare training course held by Caroline Ozanne BHSI, and were examined by Donald Kear BHSI who came over to Jersey for the examinations, which were held at Caroline’s livery yard.

The JRC now has a mobile phone for use by the committee running up to & during competitions. This phone will be given to the point of contact for each event so that you only have 1 contact number to remember & whoever answers it will be able to assist you with your query relating to that event.

During weeks where there are no competitions feel free to text a query to this number & someone will call/text you back but please note this phone will not be monitored 24/7 and will not answered during the working day.

We will also be using this mobile to send out broadcast messages, for example, if an event is cancelled due to bad weather.

To assist with the setting up of this phone, please can you send a text to this number including your name in the text so that I can save you to the contacts list.
