The Jersey Riding Club run Equitation and Horse Welfare Courses starting at Stage 1 through to Stage 3. Stage 1 provides a basic level of understanding about having your own horse or more knowledge to anyone with an interest in horses, whether you are a rider, Mum or unpaid helper!
Stage 2 builds on the knowledge gained in Stage 1 and Stage 3 takes it further and introduces more training of the horse. We also offer the Horse Welfare Stage 4 course (previously Stable Managers Certificate) but the exam will need to taken in the UK.
Each stage is a 10 week course, one night a week, with an optional exam at the end. There is small charge for the course payable in advance.
These sessions are generally run with small groups in a friendly atmosphere so as to put the fun back into learning and provides a good forum for people to discuss ideas/concerns.
The 2008 courses will be starting in April.
